Theatre is my passion…

Kate Grau (she/her) is a senior at Duluth High School. Kate developed a love for the arts at a young age focusing on dance, visual arts, and music. In middle school, Kate was introduced to theatre and has developed a deep love for all things related to technical theatre. 

Kate specializes in Stage Management, Technical Direction, Costume Design, and Scenic Design. Kate’s directorial debut was for Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Jr. as a freshman. Kate has continued her directorial journey by serving as director for The Drowsy Chaperone and technical director for Trap (One Act Play), Seussified Christmas Carol, and West Side Story.

Kate has held several key roles in her high school theatre program over the years, including serving as set designer for the program’s competition plays for the past three years. Kate enjoys costume design and has been costume designer for shows each year of her high school theatre career.

Kate plans to pursue a degree in technical theatre and aspires to have a career in stage management upon completion of her college work.

Outside of theater, Kate has been a Girl Scout for 12 years. She has earned several leadership awards over the years and enjoys leading and mentoring younger Girl Scouts at summer camp. Kate also enjoys baking, reading, seeing plays and musicals, and spending time with her friends and loved ones in her spare time.
