Costume Design

Costuming requires many individualized skills, many of which Kate incorporates into her designs, such as machine and hand sewing, embroidery and beading, pattern making, tailoring, fabric dyeing, jewelry making, leather working, and wig styling. Costume Design is one of Kate’s favorite design areas and it is one of the final touches that truly pulls together a show. Some of her favorite costumes she’s designed are Mrs. Wormwood from Matilda, Ela Delahay and Donna Lucia from Charley’s Aunt, and The Chaperone and Mrs. Tottendale from The Drowsy Chaperone.
